Cruise Ships Lose Port Greet & Meet

Port withdraws volunteers for the remainder of 2019-20 cruise season.

Port of Newcastle has withdrawn its dedicated volunteers for the final four cruise visits in the 2019-20 cruise season.

The decision has not been made lightly and is in response to updated Australian Government advice in relation to the coronavirus (COVID-19) health issue.

Whilst advice is that the relative risk for Port of Newcastle is low given the primarily domestic cruise ships visiting, the port authority said it would err on the side of caution.

There are four cruise visits for the remainder of the 2019-20 cruise season:

· Tuesday 17 March – Voyager of the Seas

· Saturday 21 March 2020 – Celebrity Solstice

· Saturday 21 March 2020 – Viking Orion

· Saturday 4 April 2020 – Golden Princess
