Fireworks cancelled for Carols in Park 2019

In light of the recent fires in our area along with the ongoing dry conditions we have made the decision to cancel the fireworks planned for Carols in the Park 2019.

Council would like to thank Ka-Boom Fireworks for their understanding.

As of yesterday at midday, Paynes Crossing Road from Broke to Wollombi is closed and Great North Road from Wollombi to Bucketty is closed.

There is still no access to Yango Creek Road in Wollombi, including the intersection at Paynes Crossing Road to the north and the intersection at Great North Road to the south. Stockyard Creek Road is also closed.

Christmas

The Christmas festivities will still go ahead with entertainment courtesy of Santa’s Little Helpers, a 14 piece big band comprised of talented musicians from across the Hunter, as well as food and refreshment stalls and  of course a visit from the jolly man in the red suit himself!

We thank you for your understanding and look forward to seeing you this Friday night at Cessnock Sportsground. Gates open at 6pm with entertainment commencing from 6:45pm.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent is planning on putting a Mayoral Minute forward at the next Council meeting to see the funding allocated for the fireworks to be donated to the Rural Fire Service.
