That’s Dive-in, Not Drive-in

Dive-in Cinema hits East Maitland this summer.

The city’s inaugural Dive in Cinema program will roll out at East Maitland Aquatic Centre over three Friday evenings this summer, 10, 17 and 24 January.

Splashing, err, kicking off with 2018 box office hit Aquaman, gates open at 6.00pm on each date and the evening will offer activities including a silent disco, food trucks, volleyball, and lawn games to keep spectators entertained before the main attraction of the movie at around 8.00pm.

Each evening will present a water-themed movie suited to different audiences including kids and families, older children, and families and adults. There will also be free swim time for all ticket holders before the movie starts.

Maitland Mayor, Cr Loretta Baker said that East Maitland Aquatic Centre has such a unique offering, so it’s fantastic to be able to roll out the Dive in Cinema at the venue this summer.

‘Details about the other two movies will be released over the coming week so I encourage you to follow My Maitland on Facebook and keep watch on the Dive in Cinema event for updates,” she said.

In pool and out of pool tickets will be available for $10.00 and $5.00 respectively, with tickets on sale on Thursday 12 December.
