Search on for Lake Mac collectors… and the stuff they collect.

The hunt is on for Lake Mac’s quirkiest, rarest and most interesting collections for an upcoming exhibition showcasing the things people collect as a hobby.

Lake Macquarie City Council Manager Arts Culture and Tourism Jacqui Hemsley said the Collectors exhibition was a chance for local collectors to share their work of art with the wider community.

This exhibition will give visitors a sense of the fun, creativity and dedication integral to collecting, whether it’s stamps or Star Wars memorabilia,” Ms. Hemsley said.

It’s also a chance to compare notes with other collectors, and to share that passion for collecting with the community.”

The exhibition, scheduled for display at SEEN@Swansea from next April, will also explore the reasons why people collect.

We would love to hear from anyone in Lake Mac interested in sharing their collection and their story for this exhibition,” Ms. Hemsley said.

Items collectors contribute to the exhibition will be loaned to Council under a formal agreement.

Collectors interested in participating can apply online on Council’s SEEN@Swansea website or by calling 4921 0333.

SEEN@Swansea is open daily, 10am-3pm.
