Survey: Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre

Filed under Cessnock, Council, News ~ by Press on  3 Jun 2019

In April, 12,588 visitors used the Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre provided by Council.

Cessnock Council has begun a service improvement project to review and make recommendations for the range and levels of services provided by the Centre, in line with community wants and industry benchmarks.

As part of the review process, Council is asking for feedback from residents and businesses, as well as visitors to the Centre. Surveys are now open and will close on 24 June 2019.

Cessnock City Council’s Acting Economic Development Manager, Rhiannon Stevens said this is a great opportunity to share ideas and continue to build on this important service.

The Centre is the first stop for many visitors to the Hunter Valley as they explore our wonderful region. Whether it’s visiting our website or coming into the Centre to chat with our friendly and knowledgeable staff, we want to ensure every visitor is inspired to experience more of our region and spend more dollars locally. We can support the growth of our local businesses through this service”

Visitor Centres can also become hubs for local information, generate local pride and support attraction of new residents. Community feedback or ideas will help to identify ways in which the service may be able to evolve or improve, ultimately ensuring visitors maximise their travel experiences and contribute towards growing the economy in Cessnock City.”

Residents are invited to do the survey which will take no more than eight minutes to complete. All the information will be vital to assisting Council in better understanding the community’s wants, expectations and suggestions for the Centre.

Hearing from visitors who use the service has also been identified as a key part of the review. Centre staff will be asking visitors to share their experience and undertake a survey on site.

It’s an exciting time for the Centre which continues to experience positive growth, partnering with more businesses and assisting more visitors. The review is a great opportunity to build on this excellent service.  To find out more about the Centre visit https://huntervalleyvisitorcentre.com.au
