Killingworth Playground to receive $125,000 makeover

Work starts this week on a $125,000 revamp of the Killingworth Park playground.

The first stage of work involves demolition of the existing outdated playground, with installation of modern, all-inclusive play equipment to follow.

Council’s Section Manager Community Assets, Brendan Callander, said the upgraded playground provides much-needed recreational facilities for local families.

The playground will feature a range of new equipment such as swings, wave rider, typhoon spinner and more,” Mr Callander said.

Recreation areas and playgrounds are a central part of our community, providing places for children to play and for parents to meet and socialise with others,” Mr Callander said.

The playground is expected to reopen in April prior to the Easter holidays.
