Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC CVO, the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia visits leapfrog’s premises in Islington on Friday 27th July 2012.

Ms Bryce will tour client facilities available at LeapFrog ability’s new Education and Resource Centre on Maitland Rd, Islington. The Governor-General will meet people with a disability, their carers, LeapFrog ability staff, and volunteers.

LeapFrog ability CEO Anthony Mitchell said the organisation made an impression on the Governor-General when she officially opened its Fern St facility in 2010.

Ms Bryce was impressed with the LeapFrog ability facilities, unique programs such as the Gym, the dedication of the staff and volunteers, as well as the obvious enjoyment of the people who regularly utilise our services,” Mr Mitchell said.

LeapFrog ability provides flexible, innovative and person centred solutions. We are always looking for new ways to improve access to, and provide information on, the various formal and informal community supports that are available.”

We hope that this visit by the Governor-General will help highlight to the community that while people living with a disability and their carers have daily challenges to face, they are still important members of our community and should be supported to be the best that they can be,” Mr Mitchell said.
