VBD Charity Golf Day raised $14,210 for The Rotary Club of Newcastle Sunrise and Guide Dogs

Last Friday 26 June 2009, VBD Chartered Accountants held their 6th annual Charity Golf Day at Merewether Golf Club, this time raising $14,210 for both Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and The Rotary Club of Newcastle Sunrise.

With the generous support from local businesses, the VBD Charity Golf Day has raised over $70,000 in the last six years.

Of this year’s money, half is donated to Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and the other half to The Rotary Club of Newcastle Sunrise, for projects that directly assist our community and community organisations.

Guide Dogs Fundraising Manager Alex Green said:

It costs more than $26 thousand dollars to raise and train each guide dog so the funds raised by the Charity Golf Day will go a long way in allowing us to continue providing our vital services in the local Newcastle and Hunter Valley communities.”

VBD would like to thank all businesses who supported this day either through sponsoring a hole, playing on the day or donating a prize. Thank you also to Merewether Golf Club for their continued support of this event.
